A Day at Disney’s Boardwalk

PicMonkey CollageAre you planning a trip to Disney World this summer? Or even in the near future?

If you are then you have to take an afternoon to visit Disney’s Boardwalk! I have been to Disney a few times growing up and now that we live here we have been many times… Needless to say we absolutely love it!

One of the things I love the most is that every time you go to Disney there is always something new to see and discover. This time is was Disney’s Boardwalk.

We were celebrating my stepdad Tim’s birthday and a little early Mother’s Day for my Mom – what better place to go!

FullSizeRender (59)My husband and I live over near Cocoa Beach so Disney is about 1 hour away from us (not too bad!). My mom and stepdad live about an hour the other way so a great meeting point is Orlando, and of course – Disney.

FullSizeRender (62)We all have been to Downtown Disney many times which is one of my favorites, so I went online and checked out the Boardwalk. We haven’t been there before and it was going to be a beautiful day so we thought let’s check it out…

We were so happy that we did!! We had such a blast and are planning on going back again to check out the night life.

A Few Places to Check Out

Big River Grille and Brewing Works – This place looks amazing. We haven’t tried it yet, but we plan to the next time we go.

They have some tasty looking dishes  you can enjoy on the waterfront like Jalapeno Spinach Cheese Dip, Asiago Artichoke and Crab Dip, a Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich and The Big Brew Cheeseburger, just to name a few.

They also have a selection of craft beer that you actually watch them make through floor-to-ceiling windows.

BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas – Well if you know me you know I had to try out this place!!!FullSizeRender (68)Now I usually would order a margarita (I’ll always be a tequila girl!),  but my husband Tom got this drink called The Magical Star Cocktail which has X-Fusion Organic Mango and Passion Fruit Liqueur, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Sweet and Sour mix – and even has a souvenir glow cube in it (YAY!!)…

It looked so amazing that I got one too. Seriously so delicious!

FullSizeRender (65)They also have your classic frozen margarita, pina colada, and a few other alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages along with snacks (like the famous Mickey Pretzel).

ESPN Club – This place is a really great option for the sports lover in your family (my step dad). The boardwalk is so great because everything is so close that one person can go off to ESPN club and watch a game and the girls can do a little shopping – and maybe even get a funnel cake.

The ESPN club is really cool though; it has about 100 tvs with at least 30 different programs on so you have your pick of sporting events to watch. They have some great looking food and are known for their wings “ESPN Dingers”, Pub Nachos and even a Char-Crusted Ahi Tuna Burger… YUM!

These are just a few place to check out on your visit but there are many more places to eat, entertainment spots, and even some shopping.IMG_5236We ended our trip to Boardwalk with a stop at one of the shops….

I think Tom is having a little too much fun! 🙂

…and Tim too! Love the hat haha!

In these wonderful Disney shops there is always something for everyone – from bottles of Once Upon a Vine Wine (best wine ever!) to the great assortment of Mickey ears.

We even got Mom in some ears!

All in all we had an amazing day. It was a beautiful day full of fun new experiences, celebrating and having a great time with family.

If you’re looking for other things to do when visiting Walt Disney World take a trip over to the Boardwalk – it’s a great place for the family to get away from the parks for a day and just relax.
