Cotija Cumin Guacamole
One of my absolute favorite go to snacks is chips and guacamole… I’m sure a lot of you are with me on that! Honestly, you can sign me up for almost anything topped with guac, lol.
I really enjoy entertaining and having different snack options and new flavors that you may not be used to. Now don’t get me wrong, a traditional guacamole is PERFECT just how it is – but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add or tweak different things to make something new 😉
Lately my husband has been obsessed with the Mexican cheese “cotija”. You may not have had it before, but if you have you probably feel how we do… it’s a game changer!! 🙂
Cotija is a crumbly salty and rich cheese – a cross between feta and parmesan (now don’t let this change your mind, I’m not a huge feta fan but I love cotija) – that is so rich in flavor and goes great on pretty much everything: tacos, chili, any kind of burrito bowls… and even better on guac!!
This may not be the most figure-friendly snack, but all in moderation my friends, all in moderation (insert winky face, lol).
If you’re trying to watch your calorie intake and stay on track what I like to do is make the recipe and portion mine out in a little bowl so I’m not mindlessly eating from the big bowl (and realizing I just tanked about half a bag of chips and the guac is gone… EKK!).
Hey, we’ve all been there before…
This cotija cumin guacamole really is a game-changer in the world of guac… so creamy and rich from the addition of the cheese with the warmth and earthiness of cumin. They really play off each other in such delicious way; you’ve never had guac like this before!
