I’m always on the lookout for healthy desserts… So naturally, when I came across baked chocolate donuts, I couldn’t pass them up.

It’s the perfect recipe when you’re in need of chocolate – without the guilt.

Ingredients

For the donuts:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup plus
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp. milk
1 egg beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted

For the glaze:

2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
2/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 325
  2. Spray doughnut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. For the doughnuts: In a medium bowl sift dry ingredients together. In another bowl combine wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined.
  4. Divide the batter evenly in the doughnut pan. Bake for about 12 minutes (use a toothpick to check and if it comes out clean they are done). Allow the doughnuts to cool before inverting them onto a cooling rack.
  5. Then for the glaze combine the butter, milk, honey, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Once butter has melted, add chocolate and whisk until smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar stir until combined. Dip the doughnuts into glaze and cover with sprinkles.
