Baked Chocolate Donut
I’m always on the lookout for healthy desserts… So naturally, when I came across baked chocolate donuts, I couldn’t pass them up.
It’s the perfect recipe when you’re in need of chocolate – without the guilt.
Ingredients
For the donuts:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup plus
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp. milk
1 egg beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
For the glaze:
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
2/3 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven 325
- Spray doughnut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- For the doughnuts: In a medium bowl sift dry ingredients together. In another bowl combine wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly in the doughnut pan. Bake for about 12 minutes (use a toothpick to check and if it comes out clean they are done). Allow the doughnuts to cool before inverting them onto a cooling rack.
- Then for the glaze combine the butter, milk, honey, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. Once butter has melted, add chocolate and whisk until smooth.
- Remove from heat and add powdered sugar stir until combined. Dip the doughnuts into glaze and cover with sprinkles.
